Bicycle Dream Day

Riding bikes is fun.  Riding bikes with other people is a lot of fun.  Riding bikes all day long is a dream.  Can you imagine, riding bikes all day with friends?  Wouldn't that be cool?

Have you, like me, ever been out riding your bike, cruising along, having a really good time, thinking to yourself, man, "I wish I could do this all day!"?

Happens to me all the time.

What?  Ride all day?  (you wonder... as if two or three hours is not enough!)

I love to ride my bicycle.

Often this is kind of thing, riding all day, is one that you can only "dream " about REALLY doing.  First of all, one must have the time and also a destination, and of course, one must also be assured of a comfortable ride or a at least well broken-in "pony" to consider riding all day long.

Then one day, it happens!

BICYCLE! ðŸ‘€

You ride all......day........ loooooooooonnnnnnnnnng.  That's what I am calling  a Bicycle Dream Day.

We have done it a few times.  The most recent was 70 miles round trip.

There is really nothing better than having a bicycle dream day!

How We Became Lizards

Okay, so... not REALLY Lizards!
Before we were Lizards we were just two ordinary bike enthusiasts who rode almost every day.  Our bike of choice: Terra Trike Tour II, a three wheeled recumbent trike.

Got up that morning planning to ride 40 miles.  Pack up and headed out, but at about the ten mile mark we noticed that we were passing by a friends house.... a little chat later we had stopped at his place and took him to the destination we had been going via car.  Upon the return to his house, we saddled up the ponies, (aka bikes) and headed for home.  we were a little disappointed that instead of a 40 mile ride that day it would be only 20.

20 was not too bad.

Along the way back to our point of origin, we stopped at a park to fix a loose screw on one of the bikes.  It was just turning twilight and across the park on the other side as Geo was working on the fix, we could see what looked like trikes... bikes like our own, lit up with lights in the parking lot.  Being curious, we wanted to see if it was other trikers on bikes like us, so Geo hurried up and when we got back on our bikes we headed their way.  Apparently, they saw us too, for the next thing we knew, they we waving at us, motioning and calling for us to come over to they were, so we did.

Immediately we were friends with a whole bunch of people who were just like us.... on wheels!  Some of them even had three!

They told us that they were just getting ready to make a twenty mile ride to the south and invited us to go along with them, so we did.  After our return to the park we headed home making the entire ride 40 miles, just what we had planned to ride that day.

This was the day we became Lizards!  They invited us to meet with them and ride again an we have proudly been "Lizards" since!
